If you’re like me, sometimes stocking stuffers end up being harder to find and more expensive than the “big” presents. Here are some practical and fun dermatologic stocking stuffer suggestions for this Christmas season.
Olay Face Brush -When I started in dermatology, the only face brush commercially available was a Clarisonic to the tune of $200. Now there are a plethora of affordable options. This is the one I recommend, and we use at our house. It has replaceable brush heads, and holds up well. I recommend these for all ages especially teens and tweens that are learning how much and how long to wash their face. This can be used with any cleanser, but my favorite and most common recommendations are Rx Sulfur Wash, Cetaphil bar soap, and ZO Gentle Cleanser.
ZO Exfoliating Polish – This tiny jar doesn’t look like much, but a tiny smidge after washing the face gives a super polished feeling and look and generally is not irritating to sensitive skin. I use it every single day.
Elon Nail Conditioner – This nail conditioner is great for cuticles, hangnails and the nail plate. It nourishes well, and a tiny smidge goes along way. It’s a long term traditional dermatologist favorite.
Cerave Itch Relief Lotion – Everyone has an itch from time to time. This lotion is the best. It numbs the itch sensation within 2 minutes and lasts 8 hours. I recommend it daily to patients, and it is frequently used around our house.
Sunisdin and Heliocare Vitamins – This is one that is great for men, although they may need to wait a few months to use it in WV. These vitamins provide great sun protection. Heliocare is available OTC and Sunisdin is available at the Spring Boutique. While not a complete substitute for sunscreen for most, for men who refuse to use sunscreen, this is a great help. We take them on all of our outdoor days to reduce the risk of sunburn. Golfing, hiking, yardwork, amusement parks, beaches – it’s great!
Colorescience Lip Shine – This lip gloss provides great SPF and comes in a variety of colors. Available at the Spring Boutique to pick out your best shade in person.
Colorescience Pressed Foundation – We also love this pressed powder for color and sunscreen in a flash. Easy to keep in a purse or your car for last minute needs.
Skinbetter Sheer SPF56 Sunscreen Compact – This is another great SPF option. This is a creamier option than the powder. It goes on smooth and clear. Great to stick in a purse or a golf bag!
Dazzle Dry Nail Polish – I like my nails painted but never go to the salon. It takes too long. I often use this nail system for a quick manicure. It dries super fast and gives a professional look. You have to use the whole system for it to work well though.
A Caring Life by Aaron Santmyire – My best brother wrote an amazing book. It’s a great gift for anyone who cares for or serves others.
There you go! Add in a toothbrush, some fun toothpaste and whatever other goodies you can find at the Dollar Tree and you’re set! I realize this is a girly list. Maybe next year I’ll get some male input from my husband. Happy Stocking Stuffing everyone!
