Plumping, Shaping and More!
Eyebrows… Never since the days of Brooke Shields have eyebrows had so much attention. As most of you know, I’m a “natural look” person, so if you want tips on microblading or eyebrow slits this may not be what you’re looking for, lol. I do have some pretty good tips that I often share in the office when asked.
1-Consider Botox– Did I say something about “natural”… well not that natural. Great brows start with great structure. I use BOTOX in the office to help with heavy brows, low lateral brows, and uneven brows. Botox can give quite a nice brow lift when injected in just the right spot.
2- Anastasia Brow Kit – I’ve used this myself and recommended this to friends and family for years. Long ago, when Oprah still had her regular show, she had the owner of Anastasia Beverly Hills on her program. I ordered the Brow Kit then and have used it ever since. I primarily recommend the eyebrow stencils that can be used to get even the most unruly brows into perfect shape.
3-Latisse (or Rogaine) – Latisse is marketed for eyelash growth but I often run what is left on my brush each evening over my brows. Rogaine is marked for scalp hair, but is cheaper than Latisse. I recommend using a q tip to apply the Rogaine very precisely. Latisse and Rogaine work to keep hairs in the active growing phase, so everyday use is best. To learn more about Latisse, read our prior post.
4- Blinc Eyebrow Mousse –When I was 13, I was allowed to start wearing makeup. My mom had a Mary Kay party in my honor to celebrate this right of passage. I started using an eyebrow pencil every day then and didn’t stop until I found this great product. This brow gel is like mascara for your eyebrows. I like that it puts the color on your hair not your skin. It washes off with warm water and friction, so no need for makeup remover. https://www.blincinc.com/collections/eye-makeup-brows/products/eyebrow-mousse
5- Avoid permanent makeup- I know a number of people will disagree with me on this one. But, what I observe on a daily basis are women in all stages of life. As we mature our face structure changes. Permanent makeup that was applied in the 50s looks out of place in the 80s.
Hope these tips can help you get your brows in tip-top shape!
