What is a Televisit?
Prior to COVID-19, a televisit was a foreign concept. We have had televisits available for years, but patients were unwilling to give it a try. A televisit is a way to see your own doctor in a location convenient to you! We use healow for televisits. It is a safe and secure part of your electronic medical record.
How to Schedule
A televisit can be scheduled by calling the office and requesting a televisit. A televisit can also be scheduled online through healow.com. There are multiple providers listed. Choose Dr. Rosenberger, Televisit as the provider to schedule a televisit.
How to Join a Televisit
The two easiest are to click on the link provided in the text or email you receive OR go to www.healow.com and click on the ORANGE Start a Televisit button. It will ask for a 12 digit code. Call the office to receive your code.
When is a Televisit Best?
Televisits are best used when a patient is unable to come to the office because of illness, quarantine, disability, work schedule, or lack of transportation. Televisits DO NOT work well for doing a full skin exam or examining a lesion suspicious for cancer. Televisits work GREAT for acne, rosacea, psoriasis, and biopsy follow ups. Visits that require more talking than up close looking are best for televisits.
Does Insurance Cover?
Insurance did not cover televisits prior to COVID-19. Coverage and advancement for telemedicine greatly improved during the COVID-19 crisis. Most insurances cover now. If you do not have insurance, a televisit is $75. If you normally have a copay, you will have a copay for a televisit. Just as in a regular visit, Medicare pays the first 80%, the coinsurance pays the remaining 20%. If a patient does not have a coinsurance, they will need to pay the 20% just as with a regular visit.
