Answers to Your Questions About Coolsculpting
Dreaming of Looking Good This Summer? COOLSCULPTING!
I must admit that when I first heard about Coolsculpting years ago at a conference, I was a bit skeptical. Could it possibly really work and provide results? Would patients be satisfied and happy?
For years I waited in the wings, watching, and waiting some more for the dust to settle. The bottom line to all my questions seemed to be yes! Coolsculpting is a well-researched and proven effective procedure with over 8 million treatments done to date.
Once I started to look closer, my next question was, is there anything else that could provide a similar result? When considering the efficacy, safety, simplicity, lack of downtime, minimal discomfort and minimal risk that Coolsculpting provides, nothing else really compared. I have tried a few other devices and procedures over time, but none compared on paper. So, I went and had it done! I went to one of my friends, a dermatologist in Huntington, who I greatly trust. I had my dreaded inner thighs treated first. Wow! I quickly decided that Coolsculpting was not only great on paper but in practice as well.
So, we now have been performing Coolsculpting procedures at Appalachian Spring Dermatology since 2018! We have not one but TWO machines. We can treat both sides at the same time, often referred to as “dual-sculpting”. I have now treated my abdomen and flanks as well. Years later, the results continue to hold.
Here are questions I am commonly asked…
Does it really work? Yes. The scientific evidence is great, and many before and after pictures tell a great story!
Does it hurt? Not really. It is uncomfortable for the first few minutes until the area is frozen. It is also uncomfortable the last few minutes when the treated area is massaged. Otherwise, it really is a piece of cake.
Will I lose weight? No. Fat does not weigh very much.
What if I gain weight? Less weight will likely be gained in untreated areas. I personally have gained and lost weight but the coolsculpting areas have held their own. What a joy!
What happens to the fat? It is eliminated naturally. The fat cells simply die through a process called
Will it work for me? I recommend anyone interested in Coolsculpting have a consultation first. At the consultation we can assess your needs and desires and provide an individualized plan. But, a simple answer is that it treats pinchable fat on the chin, arms, flanks, back, abdomen, and thighs.
Who does the procedure at the office? The treatments will be done by our trained staff including an RN. All staff doing the procedure have underwent extensive training and certification. In most cases, Dr. Rosenberger will not be performing the procedure, but will be on site for supervision.
Are there ever any specials? Glad you asked! Pricing is somewhat fixed by Coolsculpting; however, the parent company Allergan often offers specials through their rewards program Alle. Check out this link to get a $200 off instant rebate through Alle at our office.
